The Political Art of Correll & Rowe

From January 13th through March 5th, 2005, the Meridian Gallery of San Francisco presents: As They Saw It - Richard Correll and Frank Rowe - Six Decades of Their Art of Social Conscience. The exhibit includes more than fifty prints, drawings and paintings from the estates of the artists. Topics range from the Great Depression, World War II, and McCarthyism, to the Vietnam war, the Black Power movement, and the Reagan years. In conjunction with the show, the gallery will hold a special round-table dialogue: Against the Grain - Art and Activism, a panel discussion with Lincoln Cushing, Jon Fromer, Mark Dean Johnson, and Pele DeLappe, moderated by Art Hazelwood (Thursday, Jan. 27th, 7-9 PM - for reservations call 415-398-7229).
