Henry
Peck ran a hole in the wall punk record store in
Hollywood known as Vinyl Fetish. I used to shop there in
the late 1970's, getting my weekly dose of imported and
domestic punk records. I created this pencil drawing of
Henry standing in front of his store in 1980.
Henry's
establishment was quite a hangout, with every punk (or curiosity
seeker) in L.A. dropping in at one time or another. You
could buy weird clothes, browse the hundreds of offbeat
records - or just watch the never ending cavalcade of humanity.
I
ran into Henry at the Wild in the Streets punk concert
held at the Autry Museum the evening of June 18th, 2004.
While no longer running Vinyl Fetish, Henry is still the
wild bohemian and an avid Jazz fan.
