The San Francisco based Dead Kennedys played L.A.'s Whisky A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip in 1979 - I was there and did this marker pen drawing of lead singer Jello Biafra. One of the most overtly political punk bands in the U.S., they played L.A. more than a few times.
