Artist's statement:

"I created this pencil drawing at a time when that Central American nation was in the throes of a counter insurgency war.

Military death squads were responsible for torturing and killing tens of thousands of civilians. Guatemala had became a nightmare country of disappeared people, torture centers, body dumps, and mass graves."
