statement:
"My
oil painting portrays a young woman made up to celebrate
the Day of the Dead, the ancient Mexican holiday that
honors deceased ancestors.
The
observance is today widely celebrated from Mexico
to the Southwest of the U.S. My
painting was inspired by one of the many Dia de los
Muertos festivals that occur in my home city of Los
Angeles."
