The marriage ceremony took place at ocean&#8217;s edge near the ancient <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sbnature.org\/research\/anthro\/chumash\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Chumash<\/a> village of Shilimaqshtush (no translation), which was once located at the mouth of Jalama Creek.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The stream was named after a larger Chumash village known as Xalam, or &#8220;bundle&#8221;, which long ago stood eight miles inland from the sea.
