programs that promote
youth arts education. RtEA will be
presenting it's first

THE
CRY - LIBERATION OF THE SPIRIT!
Group
Exhibit celebrating Mexican Independence Day
This
year the Lankershim Gallery in the NoHo Arts
District
of
Los Angeles will host a major exhibit honoring El
Grito, or
Mexican
Independence Day. The group show is the effort of
ARTINO,
L.A.'s premiere Latino Arts association. Calling the
exhibit
EL GRITO - ”LIBERACION DEL ESPIRITU! (THE CRY -
LIBERATION
OF THE SPIRIT!), the exhibition will focus on the
interplay
between Mexico and the United States, past and present
struggles
for liberty and democracy, cultural identity, immigration,
and the
celebration of heritage... all through the eyes of Latinos
living
in Los Angeles.
Yours
truly, Mark Vallen, will be presenting a number
of brand
new Oil
Paintings and Prints at the upcoming show.
Every
September 16th Mexicans celebrate El Grito.
However,
the
occasion also has great significance for Mexican Americans,
and
since it marks one of the world's great anti-colonial struggles
the day also impacts the global community. _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ The ART FOR A
